Fans of the Academy Awards and all area residents are invited to “be the stars” at the Three Rivers College Oscar Gala on Feb. 26.
Red carpet festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. Guests are encouraged to attend in fine evening attire, their favorite movie costume or celebrity-themed apparel, and walk the red carpet. Attendees can expect to be photographed, questioned about their apparel, and perhaps even asked for an autograph.
“Attending the Oscar Gala at Three Rivers College is the next best thing to being there in person,” said Gregory Snell, event organizer and Three Rivers English instructor. “We hope film fans will come and experience the thrills and excitement of the 84th Academy Awards at the Tinnin Center auditorium. We’re planning a fun-filled evening featuring red carpet activities, delicious food samples, popcorn and soda, all leading up to the broadcast of the Oscars on the big screen at 6 p.m.”
Pre-awards show entertainment will include a performance by the Three Rivers College Dance Team. Food samples will be provided by local restaurants El Arcoiris, Castello’s, Hanuman Express and The Wine Rack.
